Foghorn Unscripted is an established group of comedy improvisers from Birmingham, UK. We perform improvised stories, using nothing but suggestions from the audience and the power of our own imaginations. Each show features five to eight performers from a pool of strong local improv talent. We also perform at comedy nights and cabaret evenings around Birmingham.
Actor, stand up, and living stereotype, Aaron dedicated his life to comedy in 2009 to fill the hole in his heart after a break up. This is infinitely better. He originally thought comedy would lead him to discover himself. It’s actually led him to discover lots of different Aaron’s: circus aerialist Aaron, Shakespeare reimagining Aaron and slapstick silly Aaron. This is infinitely better. Since then Aaron, he has toured nationally with circus theatre & children’s show, produced the Birmingham Sitcom trials and performs regularly on the live stand up circuit. Aaron loves fitness, vests and Britney. And improv, of course…
Improviser, writer, storyteller, tap dancer and professional – these are all things Ciaran claims to be. He started improvising with the Bristol Old Vic’s “Activ8” youth group before moving to Birmingham for University and accidentally joining Baron Sternlook’s Improvised Musical. Shortly after graduating, he met Foghorn Unscripted and the rest is history (To people in the future, that is). Along with Foghorn, Ciaran has a day job doing administration work for the University of Birmingham and is currently trying to “meld some words together” into a “novel worth publishing”.
Craig has been doing stand-up, acting, writing and performing for the last 10 years. He speaks a few languages and is slightly obsessed with Kenneth Williams. His (Craig’s, not Kenneth’s) first experience with improv was in 2008, and he’s been loving the adrenalin ever since. Craig also enjoys food and air.
Kit started off with plans to be a theatre director but jumped ship after her first improv workshop. She was hooked and set up Foghorn in 2012. Kit loves emotions, real characters, narrative and laugh-out-loud funny situations.
Stripy top wearing, serious staring, improvisation caring Claire Corfield LOVES improv and making people laugh. Since graduating from The Royal Scottish Academy in 2002, Claire has worked as a comedy actor in both film and on stage, from Brighton based theatre company Voodoo Vaudeville to writing performance poetry for comedy creation Lady Josephine Whittle. She is currently appearing in a dodgy loans advert on a TV near you. In addition to improv, Claire likes polka-dots, peppermint tea and smiling, but as you can see, clearly not when this picture was taken.
Marcus trained at the Birmingham School of Speech and Drama and has, of course, done the obligatory appearance in Doctors (in fact twice) for the BBC. His other TV appearances includes an advert for Belvita – he is quick to point out he was not Lisa Snowden’s body double… He also works a lot with the Bold Text Collective and performs at the Birmingham Rep with them. He also enjoys investing his time with up and coming filmmakers at local universities. Marcus is thrilled to be learning the perpendicular art of long form improvisation.
